How to make money online

Hope you are doing good, Nowadays everyone is talking about making money online. I can see set of people trying to be content creators on YouTube to earn money. But there is another alternate way to make money online. I will explain it now. 

Freelancing, yes freelancing can make you rich in no time. Freelancers also known as independent contractors are no regular employee to a company(not on their pay roll) but they are hired to fix certain issues or complete a particular task. The difference between a regular employee and a freelancer is regular employee can get company's PF, Insurance and other benefits but freelancers can't get anything but fees. And freelancers can work multiple companies at a time which is not possible for a regular employee. So both has it's pros and cons. we will see that in a future post.

what inspired me to make this post

Recently I made a LinkedIn post about my Upwork freelance journey. After that post so many new people commented and DMed me to help with freelance. I can't reply to all of them. So making a this to help who seeking a window of chance in freelance. I am making this post to share my personal freelance experience.

what clients are expecting from you is on-time complete, trust and value for money. So always be trustworthy and stay online and reply even if you failed to complete task on-time. You can follow following tips to get your first project on upwork,

Tip 1: KNOWLEDGE IS POWER

You need to gain more language about your work. My transition from a full time web developer to freelancer was smooth. But most of the people will not have enough of work experience. Those people need to take more practice before biding for a project.

because some people can get a project on upwork but can't complete it due to lack of work experience. This situation will get a negative feedback from your client and reduce your moral confident to continue as a freelancer. so take few weeks time and learn then bid. 

Tip 2: DON'T BE A COPY CAT

Most of the new upworkers will follow someone else's proposal style from an online forum or youtube videos. This is a wrong way to introduce yourself to a client. be original and send a proposal in your own style. You don't need to send large overview for a small project. You just can use few lines and convince client that you are a best fit for their project.

For that you need relevant work experience or in depth knowledge. So read carefully and apply. If you can't understand or no confident in any posted work then please follow tip 1 until you can find a task which you can complete. 

Tip 3: BE QUICK AND BE SIMPLE

Identifying right projects is the key. some web related works takes 30 min time to complete. I can say this from my experience. Applying those projects will easily get 5 star feedback and better pay. So always looking for small jobs and apply fast. 

But do not offer any free works to a client to prove your worth. Because free work == you are taking some skilled freelancer's opportunity.  

Tip 4: KEEP CLOSE TO A PRO

Top rated freelancers will get new job invitations frequently. most of them will decline because they are too busy on other projects. If you keep close to them then they can refer you for invited project.

Also keep in touch with a client after a project is completed. This will help you for more works from same client. Be fair with your fee and keep your timings right.
